Overall, I enjoyed the day. Tank you to all those involved for the hard work. Great event, but I think it could be better.

Kudos to RD:

- Pre-race webinar was unique and informative.

- Race started ON TIME. Delays at races have become too common, it is nice to see some punctuality.

- Pre-race signage at packet pickup was well-placed.

- Loud PA system at race start. Could be heard by everyone around.

- Great finish line. Very visible and with a sizable blow-up overhead arch to run through. Nice barricaded chute for spectators to line up along while cheering.

- Tons of race employees/volunteers to be found. Questions answered readily if needed.

- Transition entrance/exit for swim/bike/run were clearly marked and easy to follow.

Critique for RD:

- No national anthem at the start. How many races don't have one? I think it should be requisite.

- Not ONE official from USAT to be seen. This translated to some headphones on the run, some drafting packs, and even a few people riding their bikes in transition before the race. I expect to see this stuff only at a non-sanctioned event. This event was sanctioned and I still saw it going on. At a minimum, educate some of the volunteers as to what the rules of the sport are so they can deter people from headphone use, riding in transition, etc...

- No official "mount/dismount line" for the bike. Is this a USAT requirement as well?

- Transition needs to be closed to all but athletes. Many non-athletes were loitering around before the race. I didn't feel my gear was completely secure.

- Post-race food was pretty weak.

Swim: Course was good!
T1: Was good as well
Bike:Course was fun and fast. 3 things
1. Mark the entire course, The course was not marked on the first side street to make a left.
2. On the loop either remove sand or caution people before the race. As I encountered 2 participants getting in trouble and causing others to dodge them. Maybe a person there may help.
On the last turn around, the map seemed to show going around the plants, however the races went around the cones which caused heavy breaking.
3. use one color to mark the bike course! As at the 2nd turn around it was a faded orange and was looking for the Green.
Run: Love the run course!
Post Race: If you wanted a dry beagle with a spread you where in heaven. Oranges and Banana's where good selection. Would like to see a lunch item pizza, hotdog, burger and/or sandwiches. Water coolers had a bad taste to it, and wasn't cold. Soda's or canned drinks would be be nice.
Race went well and the several of the staff/volunteers asked how the race was and supported you on the course, which is always a +PLUS!

I took part in the "My First Triathlon" on Saturday July 17th. It was the first time I've ever done anything like that, and it was the most amazing experience I've ever had. The staff put on an unforgettable event and were so positive. It seemed like everyone there had positive energy emitting into the day's atmosphere. Everyone was so supportive of everybody.

I went back the next day to support my mentor who was racing in the Olympic event, and one of the staff members, "Felix" remembered me from when we did the walk through. He was kind enough to chat with me for a few minutes, and was genuinely interested in how I did.

Great event! Great time. I'm planning on competing in the next 3 triathlon events you guys have in August, September, & October.

Thanks for an incredible experience.

By the way, does anyone know the name of the company that was set up selling triathlon apparel on Sunday? I was trying to find them online to place an order.
Thanks!

LOVED the RACE! Enjoyed the course and that the race itself wasn't too crowded. All staff was very friendly and helpful. It also was fun to place 1st in age group:). Thanks for keeping me motivated and I'll be back next year!
